Explore Oswego

Giddy-Up. And a Whole Lot More.

From riding and hiking to swimming and swinging, there’s always a reason to get outside and go in Oswego!

Encompassing over 300 acres, the Oswegoland Park District welcomes hikers and bikers of all abilities throughout the serene trail system. Equestrians on horseback and, in the winter months, cross-country skiers also bring the trails to life. There’s even something for adrenaline junkies: the Saw Wee Kee Park has transformed the soil piles of an old mine into a mountain biker’s paradise.

The adventure doesn’t stop on terra firma. Launch a canoe or kayak on the Fox River for a trip among the soaring bald eagles. And recreational activities for sun-lovers of all ages abound at the community aquatic center.

The Fox Bend Golf Course, with 18 holes of beautifully curated fairways and greens, proudly calls Oswego home. Both seasoned players and those new to the game recognize it as one of the best public courses in the Chicagoland area. It’s been named a Five Star Course by Chicagoland Golf magazine, hosted three Illinois Opens, a 2010 and 2011 USGA Qualifier, 2012 and 2015 Illinois State Amateur Qualifier. (Don’t miss a post-round stop at Pearce’s for a bite to eat and a specialty drink.)

As if that’s not enough, experiencing some of the best sights in our beautiful community is as easy as a walk through the community gardens or one of the 50 public parks.
