Christmas Walk Week – Making Spirits Bright; Dec. 5 – 12, presented by Allied First Bank

It’s all the holiday cheer, but different this year! This year’s Oswego Christmas Walk, an annual downtown tradition, has been reimagined as 2020 Christmas Walk Week: Keeping Spirits Bright!

The Village of Oswego, Oswego Downtown Association, and presenting sponsor Allied First Bank will be keeping spirits bright and supporting our downtown Oswego businesses with drive-through, socially distanced, and online events, beginning with the in-person Cookie Walk on Saturday, Dec. 5, and culminating with the Christmas Drive on Saturday, Dec. 12.  Keep an eye out for the online premier of the Oswego Tree Lighting Ceremony, to be debuted on Saturday, December 5th at 5:00 PM.

In between, look forward to illuminated holiday care-avans throughout Oswego’s neighborhoods on Dec. 8th and 10th and downtown business features, with sneak peaks into the unique finds available at our downtown businesses – perfect for all your holiday gifting needs!

On Saturday, Dec. 12, join us for the Christmas Drive-Through Celebration, featuring music, illuminated holiday displays, and appearances from some very special holiday guests at the site of the future Oswego Entertainment Venue, on Station Drive in Oswego, from 4:30 – 8:30 PM. Arrive any time up until 8:30. It is not necessary to arrive when the event starts.

In response to the governor’s declaration of Phase 4—Tier 3 COVID-19 restrictions, which prohibit large person gatherings, Christmas Walk Week will be held in lieu of Main Street festivities originally planned for Friday, Dec. 4. The Silent Light Parade, originally scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5, is also canceled.

“Coming together to support one another is at the heart of our community spirit, and that never changes,” Village President Troy Parlier said. “Given the circumstances, we need to make changes to this year’s Christmas Walk, but we’ve got amazing things in store, and I encourage all Oswego residents to join us in celebrating the season safely, and especially to support our independent downtown businesses this year.”

Details, including a complete schedule of activities, will be available on www.oswegochristmaswalk.com and continually updated as more features are announced.
