Feast yourself on Oswego’s Fat Tuesday favorites

Fat Tuesday, the celebratory annual binge on fatty foods, is right around the corner. That means Mardi Gras festivities are officially in the works. But why exactly do individuals around the world indulge on this particular Tuesday?

Countries all over the world partake in Mardi Gras festivities. Some of the largest celebrations take place in Brazil, Venice, and New Orleans. Each place incorporates its’ own unique history into the local celebrations.

In Poland, Mardi Gras is also known as Paczki Day. A paczki consists of an especially rich dough that is deep fried, injected with sweet fillings, and covered with powdered sugar or glaze.

Thanks to some local businesses, you won’t need to travel to Poland to satisfy your paczki cravings. The Village Grind will be serving these sweet treats on Tuesday, March 5. Paczkis are also available for pre-order at My Sister’s Lil Donut Shoppe. A variety of flavors will be served at both locations including: raspberry, apple, Bavarian, blueberry, and strawberry.

Make sure to stay up-to-date on the latest paczki information. Check out The Village Grind and My Sister’s Lil Donut Shoppe on Facebook today!
