By now the summer excitement may be waning–but fear not! If you’re looking for ways to keep the kiddos entertained (and active), check out these great options to catch some Vitamin-D in the greater Oswegoland area.
Grab your bike and ride the Fox River Trail
At 3 miles, this path will take you along the scenic Fox River, small enough for a day’s ride but with enough adventure to make you feel like a regular Goonie.
Skip a stone at Hudson Crossing Park
Catch some fish at Violet Patch Park
Grab your pole and fishing hat and spend a day casting a line. Interact with nature as it splashes below and around you during a day of fishing! (*Catch & release only!)
Volunteer at the Pantry Garden to give back
The Pantry Garden near the Prairie Point Center is always seeking volunteers to help nurture this local endeavor. Volunteer work days are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and some Saturday mornings. No previous garden experience is required!
Organize a pick-up game or make a splash at Prairie Point Community Park
Baseball, basketball, dodgeball—you name it! The 66-acre park allows residents the opportunity to enjoy their community outdoors—isn’t that what summer’s all about? Run through the splash pad or pack a picnic for when the sun goes down—you name it, Prairie Point’s got the space for it.
